My first perpetual machine

When I was 12 years old, my fascination with gears started. I used to assume that power is propertional to only speed. That led to design idea of my first perpetual machine. It was based on amplification of speed using gears, and I nicely assumed that increase in speed leads to increase in power. Unfortunately, I did not take into account the fact that torque decreases when speed is increased with gears. Hence the net power remains the same.

In following years, I designed two more perpectual machines. One was based on magnetism and other other was based on capillary actions.

Eastern Civilisations have to choose now.

In 1984, Nobel Laureate Ilya Prigogine wrote a book "Order Out of Chaos" related to Theory of Complexity. In the forward of this book, Futurist Alvin Toffler wrote:
One of the highly developed skills in contemporary Western Civilization is dissection: The split-up of problems into smallest possible components. We are good at it. So good, we often forget to put the pieces back together again.
Problems get solved locally, only to produce some real catastropes as we forget to put the pieces together for decades.

Today, we see families being dissected, societies being dissected, eduction being dissected, culture being dissected. Has not the massive structures involved in large scale dissection responsible for most of today's problems ? If yes, then is there a way to stop it (if not reverse it) ?

The Eastern Civilisations (read Indian and Chinese) had a philosophical thought process involving balance and harmony. Unlike the grotesque western way of dissecting and then forgetting. But today, these Eastern Civilisations are at cross roads. Modernisation is defined as Westernisation. So, these civilisations have to make a choice: "to stick to their holistic ways" or "to follow the dissection based Western Thought Process", which has come out as utterly disharmonious.

Dreaded Disease

Humans are an obnormality in nature(the nature which itself is brutal and not so much compassionate). Compassion comes just as a matter of chance. Riding this wave of chance, humans in the creation sympbolise akind of maligned Cancerous cells. Those which systematically destroy the patterns on nature, the very existence.

If earth is considered a living entity (a single life form in totality), then certainly humans are like a kind of AIDS virus to theearth who systematically crack the code of earth's immune system and destroy it. The human virus has many varients and many meta hackingtools in its disposal which are used to butcher the immune system ofearth. Earth becomes more and more lifeless.

May be, we are at the otherside of the war, so we may find thousand justifications for our actions, beliefs or even our own existence. But, to earth which sustains us, we may be just a bunch of cells whichhave gone out of control and have turned Cancerous.

Most probably we developed more than what we deserved. As a result, our mental processes fail us. They not longer work properly. This must have started to happen more than 2000 years back. The evolution contained very primitive instructions in brain. For example, the fight-or-flight responses of Reptilian, the emotional programming etc etc.
The war between earth's immune system and humans may have startedmuch early. Earth's self protecting mechanisms must crush themalignant cells(humans) otherwise earth will lay dead with all itsdynamics and beautiful patterns lost. Where will this war lead to ? One possibility that humans will loseout with earth's micro-immune system(eg. disease, more deadlyvariants of Aids etc). The other possibility is virusing of the humansociety itself. The limitations of human brain could be exploited byearth to implant enough number of misleading instructions which justmakes humans confused and in turn destroy each other. There can bemany more strategies which we may never be able to speculate.

Whats the most likely outcome ?

1) Extinction of humans due to viruses like AIDs virus may be astronger strategy by earth. But it must be somehow difficult forearth to design this kind of viruses in short notice as theevolutionary tools are very very slow according to human time scales. For example, had AIDs virus been propagating via Mosquitoes, thenearth must have got rid of humans in a short span of 50 or 100 years. But AIDs was almost a near hit.
2) The human society works with a kind of algorithms which arecalled GREEDY algorithms. These are the algorithms like the oneswhich just calculate a couple of steps ahead in a game of chess. Theyare just incapable of making a very long term calculation. Example of this kind of Algos: 1) Capitalism 2) Religious Beliefs 3) our daily rituals 4) Habits..... . So earth can try to put a strategy justbeyond these couple of steps could reach. This way human society'simmune system can be fooled.

But this strategy may not be as optimal for earth as the strategy (1). If humans fight a nuclear war, then humans will be extinct, but earth will also lose a lot which it may take a fewmillion years to repair, or earth may itself die due to a series of irreversible reactions.
